Jennifer Lawrence Talks Epic Hand Tattoo Fail During Comic-Con Interview

You may not have noticed it, but Jennifer Lawrence is rocking a tiny inking of the chemical formula for water, H2O, on her hand, which the Hunger Games star calls “the most un-rebellious tattoo” ever. Jennifer Lawrence’s H2O tattoo is inked on the back of her right hand, between her thumb and forefinger, and was (coincidentally) done with watered-down ink, which gives it the appearance of a small brownish-colored scar. The 24-year-old actress is probably thanking her lucky stars that her hand tattoo, which was first spotted back in July 2014, is not very noticeable though, because it turns out, it’s actually scientifically inaccurate.

Like many celebrity tattoo fails out there, Jennifer Lawrence’s tattoo on her hand was done incorrectly, and features the chemical formula H2O, but with the 2 located above the H and O, as a superscript, rather than below, as a subscript. During an interview with HitFix at Comic-Con last week, Jennifer revealed that she got her regrettable H2O tattoo during an outing with her Hunger Games co-star, Liam Hemsworth, and his family. “It’s just like, I was with Liam’s family and everybody was getting tattoos and I was like, well, I’m always going to need to be hydrated, so I guess I should just get an H2O on my hand.”

Unfortunately for Jennifer though, her hand tattoo turned out to be pretty inaccurate, and as she said during the interview at Comic-Con, where she was promoting The Hunger Games Mockingjay – Part 2, she now refers to the ink as a “watered-down rebellion because it’s not like a real tattoo.” She also said, “It’s the color of a scar so it’s au naturel and it’s literally the most un-rebellious tattoo that anybody could ever get. By the way, I know that the two is high and in H2O the two is supposed to be low. I should’ve Googled it before I got it tattooed on my body forever.” Well, if we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times: Google first, tattoo later, people!
