Ireland Baldwin proved her love for Hello Kitty last week, when she showed up at opening night of the first Hello Kitty Con, hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and left with an impressive Hello Kitty tattoo on her arm! The 19-year-old model daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin celebrated the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty in style, sporting a full-blown Hello Kitty outfit she inexplicably paired with a My Little Pony headband, and joined the ranks of fellow self-professed Hello Kitty addicts like Katy Perry by getting a permanent tribute to Hello Kitty on her arm. Ireland Baldwin’s tattoo is inked on the inside of her forearm, and features the iconic Hello Kitty character, sporting a cute pink bow with a skull in the center.
This was the first year of the Hello Kitty convention, and throngs of beloved followers gathered together in Los Angeles to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sanrio character, which it turns out, is not actually a cat. According to a statement released by Sanrio back in August, Hello Kitty is not a feline like everyone believed her to be, but a British girl named Kitty White, a revelation that has rocked die-hard Hello Kitty fans around the world. We never would have guessed that Hello Kitty had such a serious fan base, but after seeing Katy Perry’s tattoo of Hello Kitty on her finger last week, we’re not surprised that the tattoo-loving Ireland Baldwin has also opted for a tattoo tribute to the cat-not-a-cat.
It’s obvious that Ireland Baldwin has been a fan of Hello Kitty for quite some time, considering the fact that she now has a permanent tattoo of the character on her arm, 
and when the 19-year-old was treated to a romantic birthday dinner last week, her girlfriend, rapper Angel Haze, blindfolded her with a cute pink and white Hello Kitty mask. Like Katy Perry, who turned 30 on October 25, Ireland seems to have gotten her Hello Kitty tattoo to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sanrio character, as well as her 19th birthday, which fell on October 23. Ireland Baldwin’s tattoo was actually inked at a tattoo shop set up at Hello Kitty Con, where she took advantage of the opportunity to pose with a variety of models decked out in Hello Kitty gear.
