Iggy-Azalea-ASAP-tattoo-removalThe year is coming to an end, which means it’s the perfect time to look back on all the celebrities who underwent laser removal or opted for strategic cover-ups to rid themselves of their bad relationship tattoos in 2014! From actors to pop stars to rappers and television hosts, there were plenty of celebrity tattoo removals and cover-ups to choose from this year, and plenty more we expect to see at some point next year, once the dust settles. And so, for your entertainment, here are our picks for the top five celebrity tattoo removals and cover-ups of 2014!

Iggy Azalea and A$AP Rocky

Iggy Azalea once said she would never remove the crossed-out “A$AP” tattoo on her pinky finger, because as she says, “You shouldn’t be ashamed of the trials of becoming an adult. I would sacrifice a quarter of a pinky [finger] for those memories.” The Aussie rapper must have changed her tune though, because in early December she was spotted leaving the infamous Beverly Hills tattoo removal office of Dr. Tattoff with a white bandage wrapped around that very same pinky finger. Could this have something to do with her new Lakers beau, Nick Young??

Scaff Beezy and Nicki Minaj

Safaree Samuels (a.k.a. Scaff Beezy) and Nicki Minaj have never openly confirmed their somewhat confusing relationship (is he her boyfriend, assistant, fiancé, best friend, brother…)nicki-minaj-safaree-samuels-tattoo-cover, but the record producer made it pretty clear how he felt about Nicki when he got a third tattoo tribute to the rapper inked on his body last year. Either Nicki decided she wasn’t a fan of the ink, or the two officially broke off their relationship, because back in October, Samuels had both of his Nicki Minaj chest tattoos covered up, opting for two bizarre tats of a heart-shaped lock with a key and what looks like a motorcycle helmet. Not sure this qualifies as an upgrade.

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas

melanie griffith tattooMelanie Griffith wasted zero time covering up the tattoo tribute to Antonio Banderas she had inked on her arm, after the two called it quits earlier this year following more than two decades of marriage. In June, Melanie simply covered up her ex’s name with foundation, which sort of seemed like a slap in the face to Antonio if you ask us, but in July, the actress was spotted leaving a skin specialist in West Hollywood with a white bandage covering up the “Antonio” heart tattoo. And we all know what that means!

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey

nick-cannon-cross-tattooNick Cannon underwent the mother of all tattoo cover-ups in October, a little over a month after he and Mariah Carey went public with their plans to get a divorce, when he revealed an impressive Jesus crucifix tattoo on his back covering up the giant “Mariah” tat he used to have inked across his shoulders. As for Mariah’s “MC” butterfly tattoo that was supposedly meant to stand for “Mrs. Cannon,” the newly-single songstress can easily just pretend it means “Mariah Carey” instead. (We’re pretty sure that’s what she always meant the ink to represent anyway).

Malin Ackerman and Roberto Zincone

Just seven months after the birth of their first child, actress Malin Ackerman and her actor hubby Roberto Zincone called it quits, leaving poor malin akerman tattooMalin with a “Z” tattoo on her wrist dedicated to her now-estranged husband. Savvy as she is, the actress simply hit up a tattoo shop in Miami and had a cool gothic-style “S” intertwined with her “Z” wrist tattoo, instantly transforming the ink into a tribute to her infant son, Sebastian Zincone.
