Paris Jackson has always been open about spirituality and her love of nudity and tattoo art, and the daughter of the late Michael Jackson recently went topless in an Instagram Story post to show off a colorful new chakra tattoo on her chest. Paris Jackson has, over the past year or so, cemented her status as the queen of tats, covering her body with everything from symbols of her favorite musicians, including David Bowie, Prince and John Lennon, and sentimental tributes to her late father. For this latest tattoo, the 19-year-old drew inspiration from the study of seven chakras, which are believed by some to be the basis of human existence.
It was just over a month ago that Paris Jackson and her famous godfather, actor Macaulay Culkin, went under the needle for matching spoon tattoos (his first and her 874th, or at least that what it feels like), and now Paris has this new chest tattoo representing the energy points that reach from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The tattoo is inked down the center of her chest and abdomen, and features seven symbols that originated in Eastern spiritual traditions, each inked in a different color – red, orange, yellow, purple, green, blue and pink. Paris’ tattoo was inked by an LA-based tattoo artist who goes by the name of Sweetpea on Instagram.
It’s no surprise Paris opted for a topless shot to show off her new chest tat. Back in May, the daughter of the King of Pop defended her decision to display nudity on social media, writing, “Being naked is part of what makes us human. For me it helps me feel more connected to mama gaia.” Though she went topless in her Instagram Story to show off the full extent of the fresh chest tattoo, Paris did use flower emojis to cover her nipples and keep the post SFW. She also posted some photos of the new tat, including one pic of the ink covered by a bandage, with the caption, “Secreting blood n plasma everywhere.”
Paris Jackson, who appears to be competing with Miley Cyrus for most tattooed female celebrity, opened up last year about her love of tattoos and the deep meaning the artwork imprinted on her body has for her, writing on Instagram, “the craftsmanship of tattoos will always be a controversy. Some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. I appreciate art. I always have. Especially when that art means something to me. Today I can look at my inner forearms and see art that has meaning for me, I don’t see a dark past anymore. My scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity…and depth.”
Just like her matching spoon tattoo with Macaulay Culkin was reportedly meant to stand for overcoming some kind of hardship or suffering, this tattoo design of the seven chakras typically represents taking back control of your health and wellness by learning to work with the energy in your body.
