If there’s one celebrity who’s undergone a drastic image transformation in recent years, it’s Nicole Richie, who went from party girl and Paris Hilton’s bestie on The Simple Life, to mother of two and fashion icon, and it seems the 33-year-old may now be regretting at least one of the choices she made in her former life. During a recent interview with Into the Gloss, Nicole admitted that, while she has quite a few tattoos, she hasn’t gotten a new one since she was 21, and is currently suffering from buyer’s remorse over the tattoo she had inked on the back of her neck at age 19.

“I was a 19-year-old idiot when I got this tattoo,” says Nicole Richie about the tat she has inked just below her hairline on the back of her neck. The ink is actually rather small, and features a tiny red ribbon tied into a bow with “Richie” inked below it in a black script font. If nothing else, Nicole Richie is known for her unique and unapologetic sense of style – see her new pink pixie cut – but what the 33-year-old didn’t take into consideration when chopping off her formerly long locks was how visible her “Richie” ribbon tattoo would be. As she said during her Into the Gloss interview, “You can see [the tattoo] now with the short hair but people aren’t asking about it, which is nice.”

Back in 2014, she called the “virgin” tattoo she had inked when she was 16 “embarrassing and desperate.” She told E! News, “I’m a Virgo so […] I thought, ‘Ooh I’m going to be different and I’m going to put ‘virgin,’ because the Virgin is the sign for Virgo.” Nicole actually went so far as to visit a tattoo removal clinic in the debut episode of her AOL Web series “#CandidlyNicole” in 2013, but at the time she was thinking about getting rid of the cross “tramp stamp” tat she has inked on her lower back.

Perhaps Nicole can remove both her cross back tattoo and ribbon neck tattoo and get some kind of 2-for-1 deal at Dr. Tattoff’s tattoo removal clinic in L.A.?? Or do you think she should go even further and remove all of her tattoos? Let us know in the comments section below!
